Hancock - PG-13		Regtig die moeite werd om te sien. Vars benadering tot super helde. Onse Charlize doen ook glad nie te sleg in die moewie nie, en daar is 'n lekker verrassing. Kyk beslis op die groot skerm!	July 5, 2008
My Mom's New Boyfriend - PG-13		Slightly below average comedy, but good entertainment for a Friday evening on the couch. Meg really does not look well after all the botox and face lifts. It is a pity as I think she would have looked much better without all the aids. Oh, and the movie also goes by the names My Spy and Homeland Security, but I think the last one, is the DVD shop botching up the name.	July 5, 2008

The Big White - R		Die fliek handel maar seker oor die "human condition" en Robin gee werklik 'n goeie weergawe van 'n ou wat net probeer survive en lief vir sy vrou is - ook uitstekend vertolk deur Hunter. Regtig die moeite werd as mens af voel en sien hoe goed kan verkeerd loop as jy eintlik net bedoelings het om goed beter te maak. Die groot wit ooptes werk uitstekend. Hoogs aan te veel vir DVD. Speed Racer - PG		Baie verfrissende fliek - ek hou van die karre en truuks, en al die akteurs speel regtig goed. Mens moet dit op 'n groot skerm sien!	July 3, 2008

Flywheel - Unrated		Feel good movie that is a bit amateurish, but ok. The idea is not to make an excellent movie, but rather to portray the Christian belief. Facing the giants more professional.	June 11, 2008

The Invasion - PG-13		Average re-make with a not too bad plot - The ending is a bit weak, though. Similar problem with Signs - excellent suspense, until they reveal the aliens and the oh-so-stupid easy cure!	June 9, 2008

Made of Honor - PG-13		Average chick flick. Not too bad for a Friday evening on the couch. Patrick's voice is a bit irritating, and the glow-in-the-dark thunderballs are very funny!	June 4, 2008
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull -PG-13		Cate is absoluut een van die beste aktrises in 'n lang tyd - selfs in 'n ietwat vervelig storielyn soos hierdie doen sy regtig goed. Ek laaik haar egter nog steeds nie. Ek raak ook moeg vir die marsman-is-god-teorie. Hollywood is sekerlik bietjie meer kreatief as dit? Ten spyte van die vaal lyn, is dit nog steeds FUN om die moewie te gaan kyk, veral saam met 'n paar goeie tjommies.	May 28, 2008

Bordertown - R		Verassende goeie spel deur Jen - die storie is weereens donker en hierdie keer gebaseer op werklike lyne. Banderas ook goed. Nie ligte vermaak nie, maar aan te beveel.	May 13, 2008

Before the Devil Knows You're Dead - R		Uitstekende multi-tydlyn benadering. Met elk lyn kry mens meer en meer detail wat die storie lyn boeiend hou. Die hele lyn is egter onstellend en swaar, maar steeds baie goed. Uitstekende spel van al die akteurs, en dit is die eerste keer dat Marissa 'n regte floosie speel. Sy het darem 'n seksie lyfie! Martian Child - PG		Die fliek fokus skynbaar op aandag-honger kindertjies, maar is eintlik van toepassing op alle ouerskappe - Cusack is dalk so bietjie geforseerd, en beslis die kindertjie met sy volgehoue fluister dialoog. Desnieteenstaande steeds aan te beveel. Amanda Peet bly steeds volgens my die mooiste hollywood aktrise.	April 27, 2008

Balls of Fury - PG-13		Somewhat disastrous comedy, but with some okeyish laughs here and there. Dodgeball is in the same category, but funnier. Avoid when sober.	April 15, 2008
10,000 B.C. - PG-13		As die akteurs so goed was as wat die skaal van die piramides en mamoete was, sou die fliek ordes beter gewees het - Die mans se fyn gakapte baardjies pas nou eenmaal glad nie by die era, en die rastafarier hare nie! Geforseerde spel, swak klank, en, en. Baie goeie beeldmateriaal, met 'n flop of wat in die slawe kwartiere. Die girl is darem nie te onaardig nie. Vermy dalk eerder, tensy dronk. 300 is 1000% beter, met spel en statuur wat by die tipe fliek pas.	April 10, 2008

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford - R		I really liked the ambience - it is very well composed, and a slower movie - I was just a bit tired to really appreciate it. A think this would have been much better on the big screen than on DVD.	April 6, 2008
Black Hawk Down - R		Star-loaded movie that is too realistic for the screen - this is probably how it was during the actual events. Character development could be better.	April 6, 2008

Love in the Time of Cholera - R		A very disappointing movie - I expected much more from Bardem, than the over-the-top, forced acting - The movie could also not decide for itself, whethet it wants to be a drama, love story or comedy - some of the scenes that were supposed to be serious were just too laughable bad. Maybe I miss something about the South American culture, but it just did not work, although the set and ambience of the movie was actually very good. The grand South American house made up, as well as all the nice bare breast shots, but still could not save the movie.	March 28, 2008
Laurel Canyon - R		Enjoyable movie about relationships, with somewhat forced acting from the two younger actresses. Frances, as usual, plays her role with seasoned accomplishment. Nevertheless, recommended for a Friday evening.	March 28, 2008
No Country for Old Men - R		Ietwat van 'n een-dimensionele fliek - Javier speel miskien goed, maar dis dieselfde oor en oor met 'n diep stem. Swak karakter ontwikkeling, en ek is nie seker wat die fliek anders maak nie.	March 25, 2008

Michael Clayton - R		Very stylish class action movie, but without technical focus on the case. Only criticism I have, as that the camera focus too often and long on Clooney's aging face. The end shots were actually laughable, where he sat in the driving taxi.	March 11, 2008
Hot Rod - PG-13		Terrible, disastrous attempt at comedy - not even my 5 year old would appreciate the physical comedy. Avoid at all costs. I should have taken the DVD shop attendant's advice not to watch.	March 11, 2008

Touched - R		Pathetic hallmark-type movie, that is just a complete failure. Jenna should keep with comedy and not try serious stuff. The music is also really irritating, except the one song, which actually was not that bad.	February 29, 2008

Mr. Fix It - Unrated		Average movie with a really beautiful female lead. Beautiful accent as well. Real Hollywood ending, and a bit too slow for comedy, or the type of movie that it is trying to be. The part where the 3 old blokes serenade is done with a lot of heart and is a memorable scene.	February 18, 2008
Knocked Up - R		Enjoyable movie about relationships and marriage, and why we do it all. Just one too many F*K words, but otherwise ok. The movie has got a deeper message than the obvious superficial stuff.	February 18, 2008

Evan Almighty - PG		I enjoyed the movie, as it shows exactly what poor old Noah had to keep up with. The dance scene right at the end taints this otherwise "clean" movie. Recommended for the entire family.	January 27, 2008
The Last Legion - PG-13		Average fantasy action adventure, lifted above oblivion with the surprising Bollywood inclusion. Interesting theory on King Arthur. Watchable on a Friday evening on the couch.	January 27, 2008
This Girl's Life - R		Some real good acting by Woods. Do not expect a movie with lots of porn scenes, although there are some. Nevertheless, a good movie with character development. Recommended.	January 19, 2008
The Jane Austen Book Club -PG-13		A good overview of the Austen books, although a bit sentimental - It had some humor and drama, and is on the light side, but not much. Will work on DVD as well.	January 19, 2008

Marilyn Hotchkiss' Ballroom Dancing & Charm School - PG-13		Maybe I was just very susceptible to this type of movie the particular evening we watched it on DVD (it was never on circuit here), but found it one of the best and my ultimate favourites. It has drama, comedy, and a lot of heart in a carefully designed package. It has excellent character development, and all the actors excelled. A very charming film that will get you crying. Enjoy when you are in the mood for some serious movie, and not light entertainment. I did not even know about this film, and got it rented on luck.	January 13, 2008

Ask the Dust - R		The film sets out tongue in the cheek, and then tries to be serious but fails at this. It works as a tongue in the cheek chick flick. I am not a Farrell fan, but this is one of his better acts. Salma was a bit disappointing, but nevertheless a sexy skinny dipper.	January 7, 2008

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - PG		Absolutely fantastic - Old Johnny is my favourite lead actor, with movies such as Edward Scissorhands, What's Eating Gilbert Grape, etc. This is a must see.	December 28, 2007
Femme Fatale - R		A very stylish suspense movie, with one of my favourite models, Rebecca. She is even more delicious in this flick. Old Antonio also does his part well. Definitely a must see. It also has one of the best cinema trailers.	December 28, 2007
